Every project brings its own kind of challenge.

Editing V13, the new music video by Feli Colina, was about embracing the unexpected — and trusting the material, the music, and the team.

It was a pleasure to reconnect with director Tadeo Pestaña Caro, an old collaborator and friend, whose visual sense I know and admire. This time, the process was even more dynamic, with Feli herself bringing ideas, sensitivity, and vision into the editing room. It wasn’t just about assembling footage — it was about shaping a living, breathing piece together.

One of the biggest challenges was making tough decisions: leaving out beautiful shots that we loved, in order to let the story and emotion flow without excess. Another was finding a rhythm that didn't rely on the obvious — resisting the temptation to cut strictly on the beat, and instead letting movement and feeling dictate the pace. The aim was to avoid predictability and create a space where the viewer could be surprised, carried along by something deeper than pure timing.

V13 grew through conversation, trust, and instinct. And that, for me, is where the best kind of editing lives.
